Mallorca Villa Rentals on the Beach
Author: Alison Andrews
For many, a villa rental in Mallorca is preferable to a Spanish coast holiday
in a high rise hotel. By staying in one of Mallorca's breathtaking villas
you can be ensured that you are in the midst of the action, whether your
Mallorca villa is located right on the seafront, or on the outskirts of
Mallorca's famous pine walk:
If your Mallorca villa rental is located in Puerto Pollensa, then you may
want to ensure that you are located as near to the beach as possible. So,
if you're planning a Mallorca villa holiday with your family and have young
children, you should definitely consider staying near the white sandy beach
of Pollensa. Puerto Pollensa is a mooring point for yachts and brightly
coloured fishing boats, which have in the past few years sadly decreased
to be the minority. Families staying in a Mallorca villa rental in this
area can also take advantage of the number of seafood restaurants located
on the seafront, which are said to be amongst the best in the country.
Albercutx beach is equally as sandy as Puerto Pollensa, but is bordered
on all sides by the famous Pine Walk. It is perfect for strolling along
on a lazy summer evening and the calm bay makes it a popular destination
for watersports and paddling.
If you're looking for a more active break and considering taking a villa
holiday in Mallorca with your equally active friends, then you may want
to forgo the calm bays of Albercutx and Pollensa for the more thrilling
Cala San Vicenc. This beach is popular with surf types, as the coves are
more open to the sea, resulting in a number of 'big rollers'. Cala San Vicenc
is also the perfect location in which to wine and dine a loved one on your
Mallorca villa holidays. The cosy restaurants dotted around the bay are
popular for their famous paella, whilst the steep steps leading from the
restaurants to the sea provide the ideal spot in which to relax and simply
watch the moonlit water rippling against the bay.
Puerto Pollensa is a great destination in which to take a Mallorca villa
holiday, but you may also want to consider Cala d'Or, which is situated
on the south-east coast of the island. The area is made up of a range of
fine sandy beaches which visitors can reach via a popular land train. Of
all the beaches, Cala Gran is the largest, but at just 40m long can rarely
be described in this manner. However, Cala d'Or from which the resort takes
its name is easily the most popular beach, and as it remains crowded throughout
the peak summer season, having a Mallorca villa nearby should secure your
family a prime spot, if you can get up early enough.
If you don't like the thought of sunbathing on a crowded beach, you may
want to take the lead of many Mallorca tourists in-the-know and catch the
holiday bus to El Trenc. El Trenc is a beautiful beach of clear water and
white sands on which it is possible to spend an entire day of your Mallorca
villa holiday. The beach has enough to occupy children and families, whilst
couples may want to spend some time walking amongst the nearby pine dunes
before sampling a delicious meal in the bar-cum-restaurant which is located
close to the water's edge.
